JAZZMI takes the stage at GUD BOCCONI, an innovative and trendy location with spaces for sharing, relaxing and having fun. Together with us, Silvio Pontiggia and his band present a repertoire that alternates between original and traditional pieces, with a predilection for the bop and hard bop period.
Margherita Carbonell, already an established double bass player on the national jazz scene. Paolo Raia, a former vocalist and skilled pianist who studied under Maestro Franco D’Andrea. Mauro Carafa, eclectic drummer, who studied abroad and in Italy under Maestro Tony Arco. Silvio Pontiggia, trumpet and flugelhorn player, already co-author of numerous small group projects, studied with Maestro Emilio Soana, with whom he plays in major orchestras.
From the pleasure of playing together at the Civici Corsi di Jazz in Milan, this group was born with a repertoire that alternates between original and traditional pieces, with a predilection for the bop and hard bop period, including compositions by Benny Golson, Cedar Walton, Joe Henderson, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard.
