The title ‘Nublu Night’ derives from the name of Ilhan Ersahin’s record label, Nublu, with which the frontman spreads his New York sound around the world. Don’t miss his personal post-concert ‘after party’ with DJ set + sax solo in the city’s most central farmhouse.
Nublu is a club and a record label: it is a unique brand from New York’s cultural epicentre, the East Village.
The Nublu universe consists of three entities: a live music venue, a record label and the recently launched Nublu Jazz Festival.
The venue started in 2002 as a place where like-minded musicians and artists could get together and simply play music together, reminiscent of New York in its creative heyday of the 70s and 80s. The Nublu has come a long way from its humble beginnings, attracting the admiration of many.
The second branch of the Nublu is the record label, established in 2005 as a necessary outlet to release music from the club. Today, the label boasts a catalogue of over 50 releases, with music ranging from the Brazilian 3 Na Massa, Otto and Forro in The Dark, to the jazz styles of I Led 3 Lives and Nublu Orchestra, to the indie pop of Hess is More and Wax Poetic. Among all its entities, Nublu has established itself as a curator of weight and creator of taste in the independent music scene. There is not a single sound in Nublu, only a vibe and a great selection. Nublu’s owner Ilhan Ersahin says it best: ‘We only make music’.
