JAM THE FUTURE – Opening Night
On 15th and 22nd September 2022, before the festival, the eagerly awaited contest returns to Volvo Studio Milano: JAM THE FUTURE. Music for a new planet, an innovative project by JAZZMI and VOLVO that celebrates its fourth edition in 2022: 6 young jazz bands under 35 will compete with their original compositions dedicated to the important themes of today and tomorrow.
The first evening of JAM THE FUTURE will be held on Thursday 15th September with the auditions of the 6 selected bands. On this occasion, a jury of experts will decide on the 3 jazz bands as finalists who will perform again on 22nd September.
From 15th to 22nd September, the three finalist bands will collect public votes on www.jazzmi.it/votajamthefuture2022
while on 22 September, the day of the final, the audience at Volvo Studio Milano will have the opportunity to vote for the bands live.
The jazz band with the best score among the votes of the jury, the web audience and the audience in the auditorium will win a script to present their compositions at JAZZMI on one of the main stages of the 2022 edition.
On 15th September, from 7.30 p.m., they will perform:

Irusu Project (jazz, rock, alternative)
MacGuffin (jazz, nu soul, R&B, elettronica)
Sara Simionato Trio (jazz, latin jazz, bebop, soul jazz),
Super Bad (jazz, nu soul, hip hop)
Tamashi Pigiama (jazz, blues, reggae, funk, afro)
