JAZZMI is back, hosted in the spaces of Armani/Silos, in the beating heart of Milan’s Tortona Design District. Between art, fashion and design, JAZZMI offers the public a special opening event. For the seventh edition of the festival, Armani/Silos will host the surprising trio formed by the famous trumpeter Enrico Rava, Christian Fennesz, an emblematic figure of electronic music, and Maestro U.T. GANDHI on drums. Sound and visual panoramas coming together in a unique show, between dream and reality.
Two worlds that meet. Two artists of absolute reference in the languages they practice. Two sound concepts in dialogue. Enrico Rava and Christian Fennesz, together in an exclusive project uniting two musical communities in the name of research and enchantment. A legendary Italian jazz trumpeter and a leading name in European electronics bring their sensibilities together for a project that promises to be as unique and exciting as its genesis, which came about thanks to the magical and futuristic thinking of Giampiero Stramaccia (artistic director of the Dancity Festival):
“On a lockdown evening, while listening to Rivers of Sand by Fennesz, I imagined as if at some point Rava’s trumpet entered, I felt it there, alive, with all its lyricism. The next morning I woke up with this feeling in my head, I wanted to try the impossible…. I called my two friends Nicola and Danilo, Enrico’s and Christian’s managers respectively, to see if this dream could have light in a real collaboration. The rest is history’.
