Chet Baker’s tormented life ended in 1988 in Amsterdam with a death that is still shrouded in mystery. One night in May his body is found under the window of his hotel room, but it is unclear whether it was suicide, murder or a fatal accident. In this original and passionate biographical film, Detective Lucas is called in to try to figure out what might have happened: retracing Chet Baker’s last days, the police investigation is the pretext for plunging into the aching intensity of a jazz icon.
In 2005, New York’s legendary Milk & Honey bar created ‘The Chet Baker’: a tribute to the legendary trumpeter and his music, the intense rum-based cocktail quickly became a new classic. In Sala Nobel, the cinema-restaurant curated by Eataly inside the Anteo, the vision of Jazz Noir is accompanied by an aperitif built around ‘The Chet Baker’.
