Last year JAZZMI got to know the IBVA association and it was love at first sight. Why? The answer is simple: IBVA is a container of stories, intelligences and sensitivities put at the service of a single conviction that we fully share, the one according to which “if each one of us did his/her/their little piece, we would find ourselves in a more beautiful world without even realising it”.
An association with a very long history, started in 1801 in the city of Milan, to help girls in difficulty by providing them with free education and accommodation. Over the decades the organisation has been many things, intertwining its destiny with that of Milan, just like JAZZMI! Today, IBVA employs over 20 qualified professionals, supported by a wide network of more than 100 passionate volunteers, and operates in four specific areas of intervention: training, emergency housing, employment, and the fight against food poverty. Among the many active projects, we find particularly special ‘SOLIDANDO’, a real supermarket where citizens in need neither have to queue nor receive a one-off food parcel: those who enter choose from the available products by filling their shopping trolley, and pay through a points card. Currently 800 households use and benefit from it.
