Protagonist of the evening is the Woody Gipsy Band whose strictly instrumental performances consist of a repertoire made up of original songs, great jazz classics and reinterpretations of modern songs in a manouche key.
The Woody Gipsy Band was founded in Milan in 2011. The five members have more than 600 concerts to their credit between Italy and Europe.
The group has released four records, including one recorded live in London, in the historic venue Le Quecumbar, an international reference point for gypsy jazz.
Their music combines the manouche genre with modern suggestions, thanks in part to the atypical instrumentation that features, in addition to two acoustic guitars and double bass, drums and keyboards.
