Pannonica de Koenigswarter lived many lives and was many things. Daughter of one of the most powerful families in Europe, she was seduced by jazz and the United States and in New York she simply became “Nica, the Baroness”. Patron and muse of some of the greatest musicians of the twentieth century, mostly African Americans. Her story is their story, a story of stories, therefore, which she told through dozens of photos and a notebook where she wrote down the answers to her fateful question: “if you were granted the right to fulfill three wishes in an instant, what would they be?”
