Suite For Miles, the latest project by trumpeter and composer Giovanni Falzone—a leading figure in Italian and European jazz—was created as a journey rather than a simple homage to the genius of Miles Davis on the centenary of the legendary musician’s birth in Alton, Illinois. The suite was conceived by Falzone at the suggestion of Paolo Fresu, who produced the album on his own Tùk Music label and hosted the Sicilian musician’s project with his Libera Band to showcase it last August during Time In Jazz, the festival Fresu directs in his hometown of Berchidda (Sassari).
