Following the success of the first night, SO WHAT returns to BASE on May 12.
SO WHAT is a musical event that tells one of the many facets and contaminations of JAZZMI (which this year will be held from October 12 to November 5), bringing the festival to a hybrid dimension between clubbing and live. A combination of live sets and DJ sets will alternate from 10 p.m. onward.
A unique and experimental cultural center, located in the Milanese heart of Tortona area, BASE Milano, will be the setting. The initiative is part of BASE Milano’s programming dedicated to cultural innovation and cross-disciplinarity, with the aim of nurturing minds and soliciting ideas in a process of continuous education, in line with BASE Milano’s vocation as a creative hub.
SO WHAT guests will be JOE CLAUSSELL (DJ set), a special SECRET LIVE SHOW and THE ROBINSON (DJ set).
JOE CLAUSSELL
Joaquin Claussell was born in Brooklyn to a Puerto Rican family with deep musical roots. For Joe, music becomes refuge, family, food, comfort, escape and love. His career as a DJ began in the 1990s and in 1996 he started an independent eclectic world house label. His music is an introspective and profound musical journey that can connect with people’s souls through an elevated universal language.
THE ROBINSON
DJ & producer, Marco and Riccardo aka The Robinson began to take their first steps in 2010, tiptoeing into the Milan scene.Definitely influenced by the music scene of Chicago, New York and the Italian sound of the early 90s, with their DJ sets they immerse themselves 360 degrees in the old school sounds of house music.
BASE Milano is a community that believes in progress determined by culture, a project of contamination between arts, business, technology and social innovation.
Born in 2016 inside the former industrial buildings of the ex-Ansaldo, it now translates into 12,000 square meters of laboratories, spaces for exhibitions, performances, workshops, conferences, with a large studio and artist residency.
