ScoFunk

Sco-Funk is a project that aims to recount the artistic evolution of John Scofield, one of the most prominent and celebrated guitarists of his generation, who, more than most, has significantly helped shape modern jazz guitar through a journey of exploration, research, and passion. A musician in constant evolution, Scofield has reinvented himself time and again throughout his long and prolific career while always keeping his instantly recognizable artistic personality intact. Best known for his stint in Miles Davis’s band between 1982 and 1985, his fusion work in the second half of the 1980s, and the funk turn sparked by his collaboration with Medeski, Martin & Wood, Scofield has in fact explored virtually the entire spectrum of American music.
