Richard Bona is a multi-instrumentalist and Grammy-winning singer, among the most established international bassists.
Representing his African origins, Bona’s music deals with questions of continents and other global struggles. His attention and the unique way he connects with his audience made him a fixture in world jazz.
Bona filmed, recorded and created musical art forms with the greats: Herbie Hancock, Harry Belafonte, Steps Ahead, Quincy Jones, Chick Corea, Buena Vista Social Club, Cesária Évora, Sting, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Stevie Wonder, Bobby Mcferrin , Chucho Valdés, George Benson and many others. Along with several notable collaborations, Richard also taught jazz improvisation at New York University and continuously teaches and guides young talents around the world.
Alfredo Rodriguez is a Cuban pianist and composer representing the new Latin jazz. Alfredo Rodriguez’s music is imbued with a rare and amazing force, a clear reflection of the personality of this young Cuban pianist, who at the age of twenty-five found himself living what at first sight could appear a fairy tale. It’s a real talent, visceral in both his compositions and his piano performances.
