JAZZMI torna a Milano per raccontare l’universo del jazz

· 14:30 - 18:30

Piazza S. Carlo, 20122 Milano MI, Italia

in collaboration with ASM – Associazione Artisti di Strada

ORCHESTRADA is a street “a cappello” music event  organized by JAZZMI in collaboration with the ASM Confesercenti (Street Artists in Milan) Association. The performance was conceived under the artistic direction of Dario Buccino, composer, with the participation of Matteo Terzi, songwriter.

Dario and Matteo, veterans of Milanese street art as well as president and vice president of ASM, intend to affirm a fundamental principle: street art is a real profession, and it has in the free offer of the public its own specific mode of self-sustainment.

JAZZMI wants to show the public the great stylistic, cultural and communicative richness of this form of expression as ancient as current, and so close to the creative spirit, urban and participatory oj jazz music.

Four electric guitarists, a violinist, a cellist, a double bass player, five songwriters, a ventriloquist, a soprano and a mezzo-soprano will form a large semicircle in Piazza San Carlo. Artists and audience will look at each other from distance to unite themselves through sound, transforming the need for security into a stimulus for invention.

At the tips of this human structure, two performers will project their movements on large steel sheets, heirs of the thunder machines of the eighteenth-century theater. Their dance will become sound and painting, involving the entire body in the creation process, following the strength of here and now, according to the principles of Live Painting and the System HN®.

The first rule of the game is the absence of rules. Every musical language can resonate, from the most experimental to rock, from jazz to the song form, with humor, virtuosity, moving simplicity and electrifying chaos.

According to the tradition of street art, the audience will support the musicians with the free “hat” offer. Who wants to, will donate. However, those who don’t,  will offer their listening, their curiosity and, we hope, their enthusiasm.

It is a concrete alliance between artist and public. In this challenging historical moment, it is precious to say that you can conceive a free and self-sustainable show at the same time.

No crisis resolves itself. It is necessary to extract the hidden collective song. It is the only way. It is Orchestrada.
