Myles Sanko, dubbed ‘the love child of soul music’ by Time Out Magazine, is the newest UK soul star. Inspired by the sound of giants like Bill Withers and Otis Redding, he cut his teeth as frontman of funk bands Bijoumiyo and Speedometer, which was followed by a solo debut in 2013 with the EP ‘Born in Black & White’. But it was with the release of his first album, ‘Forever Dreaming’, that he firmly established himself as one of the most interesting voices in the contemporary funk & soul scene. With this record, Myles set radio stations halfway around the world ablaze, receiving rave reviews from critics. Accompanied live by his 8-piece band, Myles has performed live from Tokyo to Madrid, from France to Holland, taking part in major festivals such as Bestival, St. Paul Soul & Jazz Festival, Baltic Soul Weekender, and Mostly Jazz. Whether on a record or live, his music gets straight to the listener’s heart with an irresistible mix of soul, funk and jazz.
