Mino Cinelu & Luca Aquino

Mino Cinelu has been swimming in the multicolored waters of world jazz for a long time. After many collaborations with Miles Davis, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock and Pino Daniele, he became famous for his open-mindedness and finesse in the art of fusion. Today he joins his forces with one of the most appreciated Italian jazz musicians in the international scene, Luca Aquino, the “apostle of the electric Miles” according to Francesco Prisco of Il Sole 24 Ore.

The Sula Madiana project, recorded in studio with Nils Petter Molavaer, shows above all the real multi-instrumentalist nature of the French percussionist Mino Cinelu. Percussion and trumpet, but also acoustic and electric guitars, electronic programming and voice mark this meeting at the top that crosses continents and historical era

The passion for sound experimentation and recordings in unusual places are the main features that make the trumpet player Luca Aquino “the contemporary sound explorer”. The place and the history take on a special value and they are at the center of some of his best projects, such as the recording of an album inside the Petra archaeological site, in collaboration with the Jordanian National Orchestra . An unprecedented initiative promoted within the world campaign #UNITE4HERITAGE, launched by UNESCO in defense of artistic and cultural heritage from terrorist crimes.

Blue Note Milano presents the exhibition The Black Square, a series of pictures taken just before or just after the concerts, with the eyes of the artists fixed in the camera and the lighting suitable to bring out the eyes, the mirror of the soul. Impertinent looks of the subjects and an unnatural scenario that goes straight to the most authentic intimacy. Roberto Cifarelli amazes once again with his ability to represent and interpret the world of music in an authentic and enchantingly surreal.

It is possible to visit the exhibition only during the opening of the room for the shows and after the purchase of the ticket for the show.
