Me and My Friends play heartfelt, poignant and rhythmic music: a unique blend of afrobeat grooves with pleasantly rich harmonies, a languidly graceful cello and a cheerfully funky clarinet, all bound together by the haunting, elegant voice of singer and guitarist Nick Rasle.
The new album Before I Saw The Sea represents a bold evolution of the band’s signature sound. Intimate and reflective, it is an engaging set of nocturnal meditations conceived during lockdown, whose laid-back groove combines bittersweet nostalgia with hypnotic rhythmic interplay.
