Recently inaugurated, Corsico’s “Ponte della Musica” embraces the city’s most beautiful murals, becoming a symbol of unity for its citizens. Here, the Macaja Parade recreate typical Dixieland to catapult us directly into the streets of New Orleans.

Macaja Parade was born in Genoa in the summer of 2020 with the intention of revisiting the syncopated sounds and rhythms of a festive parade through the streets of New Orleans.

The starting point – the wind that blows on this sea voyage to the cradle of Afro-American music – is the macaja, the typical climate of the Ligurian coast on sirocco days, which becomes, with a bit of irony, the metaphor for that state of mind that brings us closer to the sensations and notes of the blues.

The band has already released two EPs: ‘Apollo Session’ and ‘Fruit Punch for Christmas’, with about ten tracks moving between New Orleans Jazz and Jump Blues.

Gianluca De Pasquale – Piano and vocals
