John Carroll Kirby is a producer, composer and keyboardist from Los Angeles. Though Kirby’s background is steeped in jazz, his signature sound blends genres and styles. An in-demand collaborator for artists ranging from superstars Solange, Frank Ocean and Harry Styles to indie musicians Yves Tumor, Connan Mockasin, Liv.e, and many more, Kirby has lately focused on his own prolific solo output, releasing five LPs on Stones Throw in a little over two years.
Alsogood is among the Italian artists who have been experimenting for several years at theintersections of jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music. Founder of the trio Figùra, he presents his newalbum “Elsewhere” at JAZZMI,a profound reflection on the journey that awaits us after theexperience of living matter. The tracks are produced together with the band that accompanies himlive, composed of Pier Paolo Tancredi (drums) and Alessandro Pollio (keys). The project is enriched by the presence of high-level features and session musicians: from multi-instrumentalist andGrammy-nominated producer DJ Harrison to the legendary and late Ivan “Mamao” Conti, theBrazilian drummer and founder of the iconic jazz band Azymuth.
