Jeremy Pelt Quintet

Blue Note Milano
Via Pietro Borsieri 37

A fiery trumpet player with a warm timbre and deft improvisational style, Jeremy Pelt balances his deep knowledge of the jazz tradition with a quest for post-bop jazz. Rising to prominence in the early 2000s, he earned praise and comparisons to icons Freddie Hubbard and Lee Morgan with a handful of straight-ahead acoustic dates.

Over the years he has matured into a nuanced performer, with an aesthetic that draws heavily from 1970s fusion, funk and Latin traditions, as on the 2013 album Water & Earth, as well as his own refined modern jazz sensitivities. Widely acclaimed by the American public and voted a trumpet ‘Rising Star’ for the past five years by the prestigious Downbeat Magazine, Jeremy Pelt is regarded as one of the best trumpet players on the contemporary jazz scene. In his career as a young trumpet player, he has performed alongside such sacred monsters as Jimmy Heath, Frank Foster and Ravi Coltrane, and even recorded with the great Wayne Shorter. His quintet, ‘Jeremy Pelt Quintet’, is among the most popular and appreciated groups in New York jazz.
