On 22 August 2022, Jaimie Branch, a formidable artist of the new world jazz scene, passed away. To pay tribute to her extraordinary contribution to jazz, Jason Nazary, who was due to perform with her for JAZZMI on 8 October, has decided to dedicate a concert-tribute to her that our festival joyfully welcomes into its programme.
A “solo” to remember Jaimie and resonate her music at a time of great artistic loss: “4eva Breezy”.
The performance will include new compositions and improvisations inspired by the great trumpeter and composer, as well as deconstructed versions of pieces from their duo project.
