Without ever renouncing new experiences, holding on to the knowledge that every encounter has something to teach, Fabrizio Bosso has chosen music as a means to tell his human and artistic story, as well as to share himself, both with his stage companions and with his ever-growing and loyal audience.
Fabrizio picked up his first trumpet at the age of 5 and graduated from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin at 15. Thanks to his father, a self-taught trumpet player, he approached jazz, but it was on the records of Italian singer-songwriters, much loved by his mother, that he experimented with his first improvisations. It is precisely this transversal and unprejudiced approach that will characterise his entire career, in which he alternates love and respect for jazz history and tradition with the desire to compare his own language with other musical worlds.
Tireless and rigorous from a very young age, he combines the experience of tiring tours with dance orchestras with advanced studies of specialisation on the instrument, such as the Advanced Courses in Saluzzo, clinics at St. Mary’s College in Baltimore, and training seminars in San Lazzaro di Savena with Kenny Wheeler and George Russel.
