A founding member of Steam Down and musical director of Celeste, Doomcannon leads several projects inspired by jazz improvisation, such as TriForce and Project Karnak.
For him, the stage is like a ring in which to elevate himself more and more through each performance: within the scene, his is a heavyweight reputation.
London-based composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Doomcannon presents his debut solo project “Renaissance,” which received a MOBO Awards nomination, at JAZZMI. Under the watchful eye of musical mentors Matt Fox (Kinetika Bloco) and Gary Crosby (Tomorrow’s Warriors), DoomCannon has perfected his craft, achieving pioneering status in the nascent British jazz scene. DoomCannon presents a debut album, brimming with meticulously crafted free jazz compositions and new contemporary flashes, thus journeying through the awakening and reimagining of the young Black British experience. His aim is to create accessible music, conveying a powerful universal message of equality and humanity, in which listeners are invited to envision a world beyond the society in which we currently live.
