DANIELE CAVALLANTI “A WORLD OF SOUND”

Mare culturale Urbano

Via Giuseppe Gabetti, 15, 20147 Milano MI, Italia

A Saturday that looks like a long jazz marathon in San Siro between Spazio Teatro 89, mare culturale urbano and Sheraton San Siro Milan.

Daniele Cavallanti “A World of Sound”

A World of Sound is “two horns/bass/drums” quartet that saxophonist and composer from Milan, Daniele Cavallanti, active on the national and international scene since 1970, formed in March 2013 with the specific intent to pay homage to the legacy of the great saxophones of modern jazz. A World od Sound in fact is also the title of an interesting and touching documentary concerning the figure and music of David S. Ware, tenor and soprano saxophone died prematurely in September 2012. The group’s repertoire features original songs by Daniele Cavallanti dedicated to Dewey Redman, Joe Henderson, Sam Rivers, Wayne Shorter, Massimo Urbani and songs by Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, Albert Ayler, Archie Shepp, Joe Lovano and Wayne Shorter

A World of Sound Quartet released its first and eponymous album in October 2014 for Nu Bop Records.
