Cristina Donà & the Fishwreck – Sea Songs

“We will wade impetuous rivers, we will ride impossible waves, but we will also be able to enjoy the calm of a sound surface that will cradle, like a womb, our need to belong to the elements that constitute us. Music can do it”
Cristina Donà

One of the most refined songwriter and singer of the Italian song, Cristina Donà, is managing a “chansonnier of the water”, a fluid tribute to timeless songs, tied together  in liquid textures, without any  genre or  belongings but artfully woven  by fearless and irriverent musicians. Sea Songs is a project born form a Maurizio Busia’s idea for the Fabbrica Europa festival and it was directed and arranged by Cristiano Calcagnile, who’s Cristina Donà drummer since ever.

In this boundless sea you can find some of the most famous Donà’ songs like Goccia or In fondo al Mare. Robert Wyatt will be honored with some compositions from his discography, like Sea Song and Maryan. Songs by Nick Drake (Riverman e Way to Blue), Nick Cave (The Weeping Song), Paolo Conte’s Onda su Onda or Lucio Dalla’s Com’è profondo il mare and others will be played during the show.
