Confirmation 5tet feat. Francesco Cafiso – Celebrando Charlie Parker

A giant of jazz, Charlie “Bird” Parker was, along with Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, the most influential jazz musician of all time, the inventor of bebop, an incomparable saxophonist who imposed a style and a way of playing to generations of musicians.

This year is the centenary since Bird’s birth and a stellar quintet will be on stage to celebrate him. Led by saxophonist Francesco Cafiso, an artist who has crossed the Italian borders and who has achieved great success in the best international festivals, the musicians that will honor Parker are Alessandro Presti, multi-instrumentalist with a constantly rising carreer that soon will take him to the top of African-American music; Andrea Pozza, one of the cornerstones of European jazz pianism that is often called by American jazz musicians on tour in Europe; Aldo Zunino, surely one of the most popular European bassists on the national scene who has been working for years with Scott Hamilton; Luca Caruso, a young prodigy, already one of the best European talents.

Francesco Cafiso | Alto saxophone, Alessandro Presti | Trumpet, Andrea Pozza | Piano, Aldo Zunino | Bass, Luca Caruso| Drums.

Blue Note Milano presents the exhibition The Black Square, a series of pictures taken just before or just after the concerts, with the eyes of the artists fixed in the camera and the lighting suitable to bring out the eyes, the mirror of the soul. Impertinent looks of the subjects and an unnatural scenario that goes straight to the most authentic intimacy. Roberto Cifarelli amazes once again with his ability to represent and interpret the world of music in an authentic and enchantingly surreal.

It is possible to visit the exhibition only during the opening of the room for the shows and after the purchase of the ticket for the show.
