Calibro 35 pay homage to American noir on their new album “Ellroy vs LA” out October 9th. The soundtrack to the documentary of the same name by Francesco Zippel, winner of the 2026 Nastro D’Argento in the Cinema Spettacolo Cultura category “Ellroy vs LA” sees the group confront the imagination of writer James Ellroy and his Los Angeles Noir. For the occasion, Calibro 35’s show will be transformed into a continuous dialogue between music and projected images. The screen will feature excerpts from the interview with James Ellroy, historical footage from the City of Angels, and visuals created specifically for the project, while the four musicians will perform the soundtrack songs along with a selection of songs from their repertoire, from the most famous to the lesser-known. Between cinematic funk, jazz influences, blaxploitation, and contemporary urban rhythms, the soundtrack goes beyond simply commenting on the images, becoming a true narrative element, capable of engaging with noir imagery.
