Acknowledged worldwide as one of the coolest projects on the Italian alternative music scene, CALIBRO 35 (Tommaso Colliva, Massimo Martellotta, Enrico Gabrielli and Fabio Rondanini) have become a real reference point on the national and international scene.
A further moment of experimentation and research has now arrived for CALIBRO 35, a turn-always in their style-towards a territory they have touched upon several times in recent years and which the band has now decided to explore, that of jazz.
JAZZPLOITATION is Calibro’s adventure in jazz, but it is not a jazz project. It is as if Colliva, Martellotta, Gabrielli and Rondanini became robbers in the bank of jazz: you go in, grab what you can and then run away, losing your pursuers and then stop, take off your balaclava, open your duffel bags and find a lot of valuable things to recycle inside.There is groove, interaction between musicians and improvisation.
In JAZZPLOITATION there are the sacred monsters and the underdogs, there is jazz lent to Italian cinema with composers looking at stars and stripes dreams and jazz that crosses generations, hybridises, and takes new forms that will become the new milestones for those who come after.
