If life is the art of encounters, jazz makes of encounters a vital art. Two musicians boasting very different life paths and preferences, after a chance meeting at Umbria Jazz, decided to continue their journey together as revolutionary brothers. They are Giovanni Guidi, who played the piano with Enrico Rava and was among the lead artists of ECM, and Fabrizio Bosso, one of the most celebrated trumpeters on the international stage. And because it’s never better to be alone than in good company, to paraphrase Vinicio Capossela, the two have opened their brotherhood to include three young and talented musicians from the New York jazz scene. Turns out music, most of all, is the art of combining schedules
