JAZZMI torna a Milano per raccontare l’universo del jazz

· 18:00 - 19:30

Triennale Milano Teatro

Viale Emilio Alemagna, 6, 20121 Milano MI, Italia

It’s a white-hot musical legacy, the one Charles Mingus left in his wake. Music that realigns the clocks of jazz, smashes its canons and finds a specific coherence in its continuous contradiction and its ability to delve into battle. Mingus created a world in his image, governed by hot laws of its own, immediate, erotic, and staggeringly beautiful even while singing the bitter life of African Americans. And if planet Mingus still orbits like a fiery star across the skies of jazz forty years after his death, we also owe it to the ensembles promoted by his wife Sue, such as the Grammy Award-winning Mingus Big Band, bringing back to life the thunder and tenderness of a 20th century giant.
