Over a career spanning more than four decades, Dee Dee Bridgewater—jazz legend and Grammy and Tony Award winner—has crossed genres and styles with remarkable versatility, from her early years with the legendary Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band to collaborations with Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, and Dizzy Gillespie. After a period in pop music and a move to Paris, she returned to jazz, releasing acclaimed albums including the two-time Grammy-winning Dear Ella.
At Blue Note Milano, she presents WE EXIST!, an all-female international quartet that blends art and activism through protest songs such as Mississippi Goddam, Trying Times, and The Danger Zone. A powerful and timely project in which Bridgewater’s expressive, commanding voice becomes a vehicle for resilience, awareness, and social engagement.
