“Around Motian”

The Around Motian trio, formed by G. Orsi, a leading figure in the world of contemporary jazz guitar, and his two companions G. Oggionni and S. Giangregorio on rhythm section, was created to pay tribute to one of the greatest jazz drummers: Paul Motian. The repertoire is based precisely on the full-bodied production of the famous drummer both as a composer and as a side-man (Evans, Jarrett, Haden and many others) and as a performer (Monk, Powell, Mingus, and many others), proposed in his own style and flanked by original pieces inspired by the great masters.
