Monday Orchestra plays Duke Ellington

The pieces, taken from the repertoire of Duke Ellington’s big band, retrace the entire history of the orchestra: from the Cotton Club period; through the most famous Ellington songs, written in collaboration with Billy Strayhorn; up to songs from the more extended compositions proposed with Ellington’s original arrangements.
Born in 2006 from an idea of Luca Missiti himself and Pietro Squecco, the Monday Orchestra has participated in numerous festivals, including the Torino Jazz
Festival 2015, where it presented the album Monday Orchestra meets Randy
Brecker, and the bFlat Jazz Festival 2012, with soloists Randy Brecker and Bob Mintzer.
May 2024 saw the release of his fifth disc, Un Poco Loco. The Music of Bud Powell, presented at the Blue Note Milan together with Fabrizio Bosso and Rosario Giuliani.
