The second event of meet the artist is dedicated to Murubutu and his revolutionary project in which parallel universes, worlds and styles come together through an original jazz reinterpretation of his repertoire
Murubutu, born Alessio Mariani, approached hip hop in the early 1990s. In 2009, he embarked on a solo project, encapsulated in a discography of seven albums, in which classic hip hop sounds serve as a carpet for lyrics with a strong songwriting bent and poetic accents. For 2024, Murubutu decided to revisit his repertoire in a jazz key. With this new project, the revolutionary origins of jazz will intertwine and mix with those of ‘more classic’ hip-hop, revisiting – with an innovative approach – the artist’s discography, in a new and unprecedented key, with a jazz flavour.
