In 1925, Buster Keaton directed and performed in Seven Chances, a silent movie based on a Broadway play. The first scenes of the movie were filmed with an experimental Technicolor technique that ended up being removed from the final cut. Now, ninety years later, Mauro Ottolini and his Sousaphonix ensemble have not only managed to add a score to this masterpiece, but also to show it to audiences in full color. An in-depth research on ragtime and early jazz, as well as the discovery of unpublished materials in the Colorado Library and the Robert Darch archives, inspired the Technicolor concert acompanying the projection. Irony, imagination, collective improvisation, exquisite arrangements, a music moving the audience with tears of laughter just like great Buster always did.
