The two patriarchs of fusion return to the Blue Note with an all-star band. On the one side Mike Stern, eminent guitarist and composer, a five-time Grammy nominee who spent his three-decade career rubbing elbows with the likes of Miles Davis and Jaco astorius; on the other, drummer Dave Weckl, an icon of electric jazz and collaborator of Chick Corea, George Benson, Michael Brecker as well as of stars such as Madonna, imon & Garfunkel, Diana Ross, and Robert Plant.
Affacciato su piazza Duca d’Aosta, svetta il Palazzo Pirelli: uno degli emblemi storici di grande pregio della capitale lombarda ed espressione del dinamismo della grande imprenditoria manifatturiera lombarda e della prima ondata di internazionalizzazione dell'economia italiana. Il Grattacielo, progettato dell'architetto Gio Ponti nel 1950 e inaugurato nel 1960, esibisce un'architettura tanto imponente, 127 metri di altezza, quanto leggera e razionale realizzata con vetro, alluminio e acciaio. Il "Pirellone", come comunemente viene chiamato, è tra gli edifici in calcetruzzo più alti del mondo e ad oggi è sede della Regione Lombardia. Nel 2013 il trentunesimo e più alto piano di Palazzo Pirelli è stato intitolato ad Enzo Jannacci.

Here were shown the world premieres of their compositions by Francesconi, Battistelli, Fedele. Here they held their keynote directors such as Wim Wenders, Aleksandr Sokurov, William Friedkin, Jane Champion, George A. Romero, Ermanno Olmi, Luciano Emmer. Endless queues outside the theater they expected readings of Umberto Eco, the reflections of Bernard Henry-Levy and Massimo Cacciari, the shows by Dario Fo and Franca Rame, interpretations of Tony Servillo, the testimonies of Elie Wiesel and Muhammad Yunus. Unforgettable poetry evenings with Alda Merino and those populated by stories of Wing Violence, Alessandro Baricco, Antonio Scurati, Erri De Luca, Michael Cunningham, Hanif Kureishi, John Coetzee.
Lunga è la lista degli insigni musicisti che qui hanno studiato, da G. Bottesini a A. Catalani, da A. Ponchielli a G. Puccini, e nella seconda metà del Novecento non c'è stato grande autore italiano che non abbia insegnato o lavorato tra le sue storiche mura, tanto da avere dato vita a una vera "scuola milanese" di Composizione riconosciuta a livello internazionale. Anche per le materie letterarie sono rimasti storici gli insegnamenti, ad esempio, di Salvatore Quasimodo e Fernanda Pivano.
Provate ad immaginare un salumiere che affetta mortadelle, salami, coppe e prosciutti in una ex fabbrica di catene d’oro con un gruppo che suona dal vivo e gente che si scatena nel ballo....
La Salumeria della Musica è tutto questo: un locale decisamente fuori dagli schemi, in cui convivono identità diverse. Il luogo in cui è nata era una fabbrica di catene d’oro; dove un tempo regnavano il rumore delle presse e l’odore dei solventi oggi si ascolta musica d'autore, gustando vini e salumi di qualità.
Nonostante il drastico cambiamento di destinazione rispetto al passato, i segni della fabbrica sono ancora ben presenti: restano alcuni macchinari e la struttura architettonica, (ripresa nel logo del locale) è quella originale.
In questa atmosfera "industriale" è possibile ascoltare musica dal vivo (rock, funky, jazz, pop, soul, musica d'autore...), assistere a spettacoli di cabaret, gustare affettati, formaggi e altre specialità regionali accompagnate dai vini della fornita enoteca.
La vecchia fabbrica di catene d’oro non assomiglia a nessun altro locale, è semplicemente La Salumeria della Musica.
