Kenny Barron is an icon of jazz, piano, composition and teaching. With a career spanning over 60 years, the most lyrical pianist of our time admits he has failed in his attempt not to draw attention to himself. He performed with James Moody, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Milt Jackson and the latest, divine Stan Getz. Starting from 1974, he founded and led several ensembles always with incredible musicians, recording over 40 albums as a frontman. His unmistakable style, crystalline touch, elegant harmonies and a reciprocated love for Latin and Brazilian music made him one of the most pivotal artists of the last half century.
