Peppe Servillo, one of the most charismatic singers on the Italian scene, is joined by five excellent jazz musicians to celebrate the late Lucio Battisti, an exquisite poet of Italian music. A stage encounter that will no doubt make for a great evening of entertainment, as Battisti’s lyrics and enchanting melodies still have the power to touch us and tell our stories.
Peppe Servillo, the third of four brothers, was born in Arquata Scrivia, a small town in the lower Piemonte, on October 15, 1960. In that year the Servillo family left Caserta to move to Novi Ligure, on the border of Liguria, with the older of the 4 children, Nando, and Toni, just a year old. Peppe Servillo is the frontman of the famous Italian group Avion Travel since 1980. The group became known by the Italians in 1987, when he won the Sanremo Rock Festival with the single Sorpassando. In 1996 he signed the soundtrack of Hotel paura, a film by Renato De Maria, while the following year the Avion Travel won the Critics and Jury Prize at the Sanremo Festival with the song Dormi e sogna.
